Introduction

As you can probable guess by the name, this calculator is used for Retirement. More specifically, the finances you require to live it well. Coded in python(programming language), this is a simple and easy to use program. Built on the pillars of your answers, it tells you what your financial future may look like.

What does it do?

To begin with, the Retirement Calculator asks you a couple of questions. These give the calculator key values that determine your financial future. The questions range from, At what age do you want to retire at? to How much of your income do you save yearly?

Using these, it unveils you to vital figures. These include telling you about your funds when you retire and even the total value of any assets/money you will posses at the beginning of your golden years.

Going further, the Retirement Calculator presents to you a list comprised of financial strategies you could use in your retirement. Annuities and the 4% Rule are options that you will be beknownst to in this list. Out of this platter, you will be ushered to pick a plate. Once you do so, the program will show your very own customized financial path in retirement. The program will also provide you with some information on your chose path .

Why I made it

Well to begin with, I thought of ideas. Anything that related to me in any shape or form. And out of my list, one shone like a diamond in a pile of coal. A Retirement Calculator.

The reason this idea was so conspicuous was because it interplayed with my grandfather’s financial history. Although working for HCC, a well-known company in the field of infrastructure and construction, as a Project Manager/Engineer, my grandfather never really gave a thought to the future. Always living the present. This however, led him to posses not much in assets when he retired. And as you can guess, this wasn’t the best position to be in.

Hence, in the hopes of ushering others away from this path, I created a Retirement Calculator. This way, even if this blog provokes a single thought in the mind of anyone ,from a student to a working parent, they could prepare well and think beforehand for their retirement and not put any or very little financial strain on their children.
